1951
Blacksmithing origins
MacTavish Welding opens in Campbell River as a blacksmithing and repair shop — serving the working coast from day one.
1960s–80s
Ships, fish, mines, timber
The shop grows with the Island — shipbuilding and repair, fishing fleets, mining operations, and logging camps up and down the coast.
1990s–2010s
Modern fabrication
CNC plasma cutting, heavy rolling, and certified welding move the shop into modern custom fabrication and field construction across the region.
TODAY
Custom work, industrial scale
One-off custom builds alongside heavy industrial fabrication — boats, docks, stairs, and whatever a client can sketch on paper. If it's metal, we build it.
